39 year-old David McNeil appeared in court today (Monday 7th June) charged with the murder of his 73 year-old mother Mary – or Moira – McNeil.
Mary McNeil,died at her home in Broadcroft Lane in Rothesay the Isle of Bute shortly after lunchtime on Saturday 5th June.The emergency services were called to the premises at 1.30pm.
Her son has now been charged with murdering her and with carrying an offensive weapon.
Mr McNeil made no plea or declaration on his appearance. He has been remanded in police custody and is expected to appear in court again in a week’s time, on 14th June.
